The end of the world as we know it.

Microsoft hates me. Here I am trying to run through some of my backlog of games and they pick now to release a game I’ve been waiting months for. This week on XBLA Peggle will be released. Guess I’ll have to get some points since the new Maw level will also be released this week.
I’ve played both Peggles on the PC so I already know I love the game. Sigh. I was able to resist R-Type (due in part to the overpricing), but Peggle is coming in at 800 points so it’s going to get me.

I’ve heard Peggle is insanely addictive…I’m afraid to try it lol

It is, oh God is it addictive. Me, S. and her daughter have all been sucked into the PC version.

oh my god this game has two really hard achievements o.O

The hardest will be ‘Be Cool – Hit the last orange then the last blue to rack up a Cool Clear.’ and ‘Doctor of the Peggle Arts – Clear all pegs and bricks in every level in Quick Play or Adventure mode and gain explodious fame!’.
I’m waiting for the PopCap disc on the 27th since it has Peggle, Feeding Frenzy 2, and Heavy Weapon for $20.

I don’t think the “Cool” achievement should be too hard…Matrarch got it immediately.

People 5* TTFAF early on too. Doesn’t mean it’s easy.
Not only do you have to clear the entire board you have to bounce off the last orange to finish the level and clear any blue pegs remaining before the ball exits the area.

I predict there will be a lot of replaying the first level lol

LOL, probably.
The Zen shot will be the easiest to do this with. Just make sure you save a green peg for the end so you can use Zen to ensure the final hit sequence.

I haven’t got a clue what that is…I’m guessing it’s from the last chapter in adventure mode? That’s the only one I haven’t gotten to yet. I got half way through chapter 9 and started falling asleep so I switched to Comedy Central. Getting 100% on every level is going to be tough. So far NO ONE on TA.com has the 100% for all achievement or the complete all challenges achievement.

I think Zen is the second one but it’s been awhile since I played so maybe not. It’s the Owl’s power that recalculates your angle to ensure you get the most out of it

I think the 360 version may be different from the one you’ve played. The first character was a unicorn and he had an ability that would show you where the ball would bounce after it hit the first peg but it was called something along the lines of “super-pointer” or something like that…I don’t think there is an owl in this game but I could just be remembering it wrong.
I think the 2nd critter was a beaver that gave you multi-ball

Master Hu is the owl that gives Zen. A quick Google shows that sites have talked about him in the 360 version so he’s in there. Must be the last character, then.

If I remember correctly, Master Hu is fairly far along in the game. He’s by far my favorite character.
I can’t wait for that disc to drop. I still launch Peggle on the desktop for a quick fix whenever I can.
